Brenna Meko, Founder of Salon Cuvee and Day Spa
My Mission Statement:
Salon Cuvee & Day Spa offers the most incredible service, by the most talented team, for the greatest clients in the best environment anywhere
Now wouldn’t you rather spend your Day at Salon Cuvee
I started Cosmetology in high school at 14 in a town outside of Nashville called Hendersonville at Beech High School. I started behind the chair at 17 and never stopped.
I experienced video work for country and rock music, fashion shows, political events in and around the Nashville area. I have a lot of energy and need constant movement so location work is a lot of hurry up and wait. Great experience but the in-salon energy is what I love. Who did I work on you ask? My brother’s band The Royal Court of China, many song writers, and every behind the scene music personality from producers to arrangers. If you have ever experienced Nashville it is a wonderful place where talent is everywhere. Needless to say I was never a part of high school talent show.
My Journey brought me to Sacramento in 1990 and there I thought I always wanted to do special effects makeup so off I went to LA to the Joe Blasco school of makeup. After a very short time I realized I was already in my industry, advance cuts and expert color was where I belonged.
I have had the pleasure of opening Salon Cuvee and Day Spa in September of 1997. I bought the block in 1999, built a parking lot to provide safer and more convenient parking for my clients, and I finished my final expansion in the fall of 2007. My Salon and Spa now takes up the full 6000 sq ft building and includes 17 hair stations, 7 spa rooms and 2 manicuring and pedicure stations.
I created a place to get everything done in one spot in a wonderful environment with great amenities. I realized time is the most important commodity to have so why go anywhere else?
My Clientele and team has grown over the years to expect my full attention and no one can oversee my vision like myself so after 20 years, I retired from the chair in December 2007. I now oversee the salon and mentor with help from a team of stylists that help with educating my assistants, and I continue motivating my team to be their best in their skills and business.
Retiring has allowed me to teach , be available for beauty spots on Good Day Sacramento, serving on the board for East Sacramento Chamber of Commerce and being involved in the community and volunteering my time to speak with student in the surrounding beauty schools.
I enjoy my family and my beautiful weimaraner Rainn who is in all of my ads. I am a cow girl at heart and trail ride with my Quarter Horses every chance I get.
I hope you enjoy my philosophy in hair and in business. I have a great team and continue to make your experience with us a consistent and enjoyable.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me!
